We have an excellent trainee Play & Creative Arts Therapist working with us called Emma Jones. Emma is undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills.
As part of her Certificate training, Emma is looking for a 100 hour work placement in a primary school in Oxfordshire (ideally in the following areas – Faringdon, Oxford, Abingdon or Witney), supporting up to 4 children with Play & Creative Arts Therapy.
A series of Play and Creative Arts Therapy sessions with one child usually costs between £65 and £90 per session. The therapy cost for Emma would be £20 per session. This is a rare opportunity to access this specialist service at minimal cost.
About Emma
Emma developed a keen interest in developmental psychology and attachment whilst undertaking her BSc in Psychology. Emma is a qualified Social Worker and has 5 ½ years’ experience working in a Children and Family Safeguarding Team in Oxfordshire.
During her time as a social worker, Emma discovered how effective Play Therapy is in helping children work through difficult feelings and life adversities; thus improving children’s development, attachments and overall wellbeing. As there is such an increasing need for therapeutic interventions for children in the UK, Emma wants to redirect her passion into becoming a qualified Play Therapist
Emma is supported by the Clear Sky team and regular supervision sessions. If you wish to go ahead with hosting Emma during her placement she could begin work with children in Autumn 2022.
