We have an excellent trainee Play & Creative Arts Therapist working with us called Beth Gibson. Beth is undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Play Skills to further develop her skills in working therapeutically with children.
As part of her Certificate training, Beth is looking for a 100 hour work placement in a primary school in Oxford, supporting up to 4 children with Play & Creative Arts Therapy.
A series of Play and Creative Arts Therapy sessions with one child usually costs between £60 and £85 per session. The therapy cost for Beth would be £17 per session. This is a rare opportunity to access this specialist service at minimal cost.
About Beth
Beth started out as a primary school teacher before becoming a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) in a central Oxford school. Beth has previously used the medium of play to support work with children in India, Kenya and Ethiopia. As SENCo, Beth introduced play therapy in the school and saw for herself the power of play to enable children to work through difficult feelings and find ways to bring change to their lives.
Beth is a student with a significant amount of experience in the primary school setting and she is supported by the Clear Sky team with regular supervision sessions. If you wish to go ahead with hosting Beth during her placement she could begin work with children in September 2021.
